The young family who lives in this 1940s Cape
Cod style home asked us to brighten their kitchen, increase the amount
of counter and storage space, and open it up to the adjacent dining
room. Our new floor plan includes a center island that the boys and
their friends love to gather at after school, as well as a full-height
pantry wall/locker area just inside the back door for stowing jackets
and backpacks. A large, deep window was replaced with a shorter one to
accommodate the sink’s new position.
