This handsome 1923 home is located in
Wauwatosa’s Washington Highlands neighborhood and is on the
State Historic Register, so the two-story addition we built had to be
seamless. A previous 1960s-era "re-muddle" had left the home with a
flimsy iron railing on the second floor porch, poor quality and
inappropriately-shaped replacement windows, and an unflattering paint
scheme. In our 2001 remodel, we reclaimed as much old brick as
possible, and wove it in with new brick.
