This cottage-style home was built in the 1940s
with a lovely front porch and entry, but the homeowners still dreamed
of a large wrap-around back porch on which to entertain or just relax
alone together. With seamlessness in mind, our designers replicated the
column and arch design elements from the front porch, and continued the
look with all wood construction, a traditional painted beadboard
ceiling and tongue and groove floor, square balusters, a French door to
the kitchen, and a traditional ceiling fan and decorative sconces. The
disturbance to the surrounding trees and vegetation was minimal.
